Thread: VOB Files

Started 3 months, 1 week ago by Sam.I.Am
So I've got a folder with a load of files in, most of them .vob and a few .BUP and .IFO too. It's a DVD of a live gig. Two questions: a) How do I know which one to play? b) How do I burn them to a DVD so they can be played in a standard DVD player? Thanks

Did you expand those from an image file?

Is the folder called VIDEO_TS? If so use VLC and just play the folder. To make a DVD just copy the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders.

It's been riped from a dvd. Each file is a different layer. Click on teh first one openable by VLC and it should play. It's just the different scenes split up to **** people who rip it off. Burning... not sure, i'd of thought it should just burn like that, all files, and play, but it's only a guess. Not much help tbh, someone will know better.

No Nath, downloaded a DVD. Quote: Originally Posted by richie00boy Is the folder called VIDEO_TS? If so use VLC and just play the folder. To make a DVD just copy the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders. Yeah, it's called VIDEO_TS but there is no AUDIO_TS file. If I open one of the .vbo's there is audio though

you need all those files to make your dvd work - VOB files are basically "video object" - the BUP (backup files of the IFO files) files and IFO files (information files) are the ones which make the dvd know which is the order the files need to play in the menu - all those files combined are what makes the DVD work as a dvd AUDIO_TS will normally be empty anyway because the audio gets ripped ...

To simplify even though there is no need. Make two folders on a dvd AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. dump the files in the VIDEO_TS and jobs a goodun
