Thread: Upgraded my GF headlights to HID

Started 4 months, 3 weeks ago by import_frenzi
Here's a picture of the HID kit I installed in my GF's car, light output was 6000K. I was surprised on the light output. I've used a few HID kits over the years and I would say I'm very satisfied with this. Cost was cheap, excellent customer service and fast shipping.

where did you get the set from? and how much did you pay?

import_frenzi replied 4 months, 3 weeks ago
it only cost me $60 total shipping included. brought off HIDEXTRA. it's lists $75 on their web but I used a coupon code I believe it's (w-fspecial) to receive $15 off the listed price. did you upgrade yours to HID yet? What color temp did you get?

Um, the 3rd gen TL comes with HIDs. The stock ones are 4300k, and I wouldn't trust some random company named "HIDEXTRA" for parts. Go with a well-known name like Philips and their osrams

Yes, all factory HID are 4300K, which I upgraded my GF's to 6000K. I am familiar with Philips HID and other well know brands. I'm just sharing my thoughts on this low cost HID kit I go my hands on.

I dont think the car in the photo is a 3rd gen TL, first the wiper arms sit recessed into the cowl of the TL (you can see the wiper arms in this photo) and the light pattern does not appear to come from a projector type of set up (which the 3rd Gen TL has). I have HID kits in both my Hummer H2 and my Z06 which are non projector style housings and the light pattern is more consistent with what is ...
