Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has any more info about this.
Ive got a spare Bt Home Hub from parents and want to use it with a non BT ISP, is this possible yet?
Thanks ...
Apparently,, when the setup wizard asks for an activation code, using
522P-22P4-A222-22AT-F24N
or
5225-2374-WG62-22AS-BJ7P
will let you set it up manually..
you can also apparently telnet in to it : http://www.the-scream.co.uk/forums/t21966.html?
and the web admin page is http://192.168.1.254 - userid and password admin & admin
I've been playing around with this for a couple of days now, but with no real success in unlocking it.
I tried flushing and then setting up a new ppp interface through the telnet interface, but even here the router will only accept usernames that end with "@btinternet.com", so it looks like the only way forward would be to change the firmware.
When telnetting in, in the "software" ...
the bt home hub, what model number do you have?
is the white one looks like the television add with the spotty sales boy?
if so you may be able to use a manual setup in windows, depends on your knowledge of what cable type you use, ethernet is hard but worth it, usb is a sheep, you say it dose.
Hi,
Just to say, Im a member of the Thomson Communication partner network and just to test, I downloaded the firmware for the 7G, the 780 and the 712 models, none of which are the right versions for re-flashing a homehub back to open settings. My guess is that Thomson just made the hardware and the boot-loader and BT did the rest.

Hi,
I seem to be having success with the Home Hub - it doesn't really seem to be locked down at all! I got SuperUser rights using the config backup/restore method and have even got the Hub working with FWD instead of BT's VOIP service.

Hi,
I managed to get one of these on the cheap. I have managed to alter the behaviour of the status lights. lol. I have also managed to get it working as a Wireless Access Point behind my existing ADSL router. I've managed to remove all the default users and create my own, but obviously this still doesn't allow you to alter the 'important' settings

I have a Speedtouch, if connected on ADSL it works fine (internet, wireless, voip) i need to connect it behind my Netgear (as a slave) I can log in via 192.168.1.254, and have internet access through the Speedtouch but my Voip is not active when using it in slave mode it tells me my ADSL is not connected Originally Posted by kobus OK this thread is about unlocking a BT home hub for other ISPs, Your question is about using a Speedtouch modem as...
Hi, Well after not much luck I have upgraded to 6226 firmware - not a good move! Anyone been able to get SuperUser rights on this but not being with BT? First, I couldn't enable remote admin as it said I had no internet! I got around that but now although I can enable RA and it says to use https://192.168.1.254:51003 with a user of tech and a password of whatever, I can't seem to get any browser to connect on this IP address Any...

You can turn on the IPP function via the CLI. You need to Telnet in and then use the ? help facility to drill down through the functions. I wouldn't bother if I were you .... it's about as useful as a Chocolate Teapot!
Yes the phone light is lit along with wireless and data, whilst broadband and internet is off, the firmware is the latest 6.2.2.6, to configure voip just go to http://www.bt.com/bbv Also just another note you can use this method for voip AND normal landline phone calls with this method as well, if you just get a phone cable and plug it into the broadband port at the back and then into your filtered voice port not internet obviously as that...
Thanks Vstar , I wasnt sure of there being a direct relationship, Ive been caught out before thinking apples were pears with computer hardware! Thanks again . WILT
No it doesn't work and to be honest it's a bit like closing the door after the horse has bolted as the firmware is in already in place and only half there. Reason for that is because there are 2 parts to the flash for the Speedtouch 6.1.9.6 firmware you can edit the main header to load the main part it but the sub header remains as the original and hence isn't flashed as it sees it as a wrong firmware After some feedback on this...
Ok here's where I'm up to: I go into the correct boot mode, downloaded and ran the BT firmware. Here is my log: Code: Starting with options: serialFilter=* buildImageName= Starting device search. Found device with serial: SpeedTouch [0644EHNLZ] Starting build check. Using build image: C:/Documents and Settings/Ben/Desktop/New Folder/RecoveryTool/../BThubSW/ZZK3BP626H.bli Starting upgrade. Discovering device. Starting actual upgrade....
