Thread: Undescended Testicle

Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by Hopefulmama
My son is 19 months. The ped. discovered this at his last appointment. He doesn't seem to be in any pain with it. They don't know if it was always that way or if it retracted because she didn't notice it on prior examinations. We have an appointment scheduled with a specialist. The more people I talk to the more common it seems to be. Anyone have any input? He has gone through two other ...

my son is missing a testicle. I noticed it really early and he had surgery to find out if anything needed to be removed so as to not increase his odds of cancer later. There was a small mass they removed. He was loopy for the rest of the day and fine after that. We used some of the meds after for pain, but not all of it. I dont' know if you've tried, but give him a warm bath and see if his...

My son had an undescended testicle as well. While it ended up coming on down our ped would have referred us to a specialist at 12-15 mos because you really can't let it go. But, she prepared us quite well just in case and really it is all done laproscopically (hope that is a word) and would be an out patient procedure. Wishing you the best of luck and don't worry too much.

I wonder why the ped just now noticed it? We were told ds had an u.t. at birth. We waited a year to see if it would drop. When it didn't we had an ultrasound sometime around 15 months. There they found that it was not in his abdomen, but moving down. We were told to wait until he was 2-3 for further action. I've talked to a few people, both online and irl, and from what i understand it is a...

My son was 14 months when he had his surgery. The surgery took about 2 hrs from the time I left him to when he awoke from surgery. The hardest part for me was the no nursing for 3 hrs before surgery. He woke up at 4:15am and cried and cried b/c he was so upset and confused I could not nurse him. When he woke up from the surgery, he was not crying just looked scared and upset that he was in an ...
