I was VERY disappointed with this album.
His debut album was brilliant and would've been tough to top but this one fell way short of my expectations. There are 3 tunes I really like (Dinosaur, Narita, Escape Velocity) but the rest of the album leaves something to be desired. I can't get down with a lot of the percussion used, some of the breaks sound almost off time to me. Flying Lotus & ...
after a quick listen on really shity work computer speakers, i'll say that it seems like i would like "lost" the most but i see what you are saying about some of the beat shifts it's sorta quirky and moves around offbeat. i'll give it a better listen next time i go tune shopping...
my favorite by him is still "kontrol"
goodness.
Agreed!
"Kontrol" & "Walkover" will never be out of rotation with me.

It took me a couple listens to warm up to it but I really like it. Dinosaur
is definitely the stand track, pure dopeness, but I think its a very strong
release. Then again, I get down with the off beat wonky hip hop stuff. I
feel like the new Untold release has the same kind of flava

y'all are crazy, this album is great. i dig all the tunes completely, with the exception of Unbalance and Yes/No, which are a little too weird for me. I can totally see how this would be more accessible to the "Techno" crowd and a little less to the "Dubstep" crowd though.
Favorite tune would have to be Escape Velocity.

hmm... I definitely enjoyed listening. It carried that aura and element that A Guy Called Gerald, Goldie, Burial, and Photek albums have in the sense of making albums with a sound palate that are unique to that artist... and showing us what they can do with it. A few have that 'Circulation' vibe with new techniques and textures. Also, I'm a big fan of organ sounding bass-synths and samples that sound processed like old...
