Projection is just not cutting it. I just got back from my friends house after a bunch of us were watching movies off his PS3 and he had some HDMI cables lying around unopened and I finally hooked them up for him on the PS3 and wow what a difference. It's like the graphics suddenly improve 10 fold in 1080p I always knew but never saw it first hand. Damn and I was supposed to get one on a good ...
Vizio sells a 26" 1080p HDTV for about 350-449, somewhere around there. Or you could get a 22"-24" 1080p monitor from Samsung and that's even cheaper for 200. I personally have a 22", it's an older model though before the time when 1:1 was common feature.
Oh I know. I've had HD for quite some time so I forgot about the difference, but I was watching a video of someone playing UC2 in standard definition and I was like ZOMG that looks like crap! Thank god for HD <3
I do plan on getting myself a new TV for the sake of upgrading. I asked numerous people as to what TV was good for watching and gaming, few said Panasonic, and others said Sony but the one that was recommended to me most was Samsung. So I'm gonna try to get a 32inch Samsung HDTV at 720p
*sigh* freakin would-be tech-heads... PIXELS != POLYGON COUNT OR GRAPHICAL OUTPUT QUALITY Once upon a time, 640x480 resolution was a godsend. I'll admit FPS games benefit from higher resolutions, especially in multiplayer, but most games seriously do not require a significantly high pixel count. I've played games in standard and higher res. Know what's different? It's slightly crisper, and games...
I dunno I could easily tell the difference even when we booted up a simple demo like MotoGP 3 just to test it. Looked WAY better on 1080p than standard and we were switching back and forth between to see the differences. Even on simple looking games like Mario games you can still see the difference http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7A_AaDz8bnA
The TV I plan on getting for this game (among others): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8 2E16889102312&cm_re=samsung_37-_-89-102-312-_-Prod uct
Plus this, since I'm fully intending on squeezing every ounce of entertainment out of Final Fantasy XIII: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8 2E16882115201&cm_re=yamaha_7.1-_-82-115-201-_-Prod uct And yes, I'm aware my audio is more expensive than my video, lol
Dude I was supposed to get a 50" LCD for $700... Some of my other friends from my job got them a few months before I tried to get one from the same source but I guess I was too late...

HD tv's are capable of accepting analog signals(like VGA), because most are backwards compatible, and therefore are able to display the corresponding pixel resolutions.
