Afganistan for sure, but we never officially sent troops to Iraq. Navy in the gulf enforcing UN sanctions yes, but not the actual Iraq conflict. Although I could be wrong again.
Totally agree with the healthcare. Healthcare in the States rocks!
Totally agree with the taxes. Way too high in Canada.
Totally agree with the climate. Canada is too darn cold!
Absolutely nothing I've seen can compare with the Canadian Rockies though.
The immigration problem in the States is sickening.
Public schools in Canada are way better.
I think the people are generally ...
This whole thread is ridiculous. It is impossible to compare two countries as large and diverse as ours without turning to generalizations and stereotypes that all break down each time you examine them.
Canada is a better place to live if you are a working class or middle class person raising kids (i.e. good for people whose household income is less than $125K).
The US is a better place to live if you are a young and upwardly mobile person (i.e. yuppie making more than $125K) or wealthy (assets more than $1M).
Why?
(1) Healthcare. If you're working class or middle class (i.e. you're a...

Yes! Canada is able to get some pretty awesome chocolate from the UK like Cadbury and Kinder. We get some Cadbury here, but it's made differently from the ...
Both countries are nice. I'm from Brazil and I can say that americans and canadians are lucky not to have the same problems we have around here. Although, I stick to America. Large cities all around its territory and better basketball teams..
Canada is not as violent as America but it's way too cold...but I can't say a thing because Brazil is quite worse than both together.

I did say Iraq and should have said Afghanistan. As we all know, Canada has been active in "Operation Enduring Freedom".

This is what I've noticed. Canadians in general are more highly educated than the general public in the States. People allowed to settle for the most part are also educated and rarely destitude. Most all are bilingual (French and English). They seem to be more outdoor oriented and more aware of green (conservation) living than we are. Housing tends to be either urban or farm country with fewer ...
Which parts of the US? Could you please also be more specific how being cultured is looked down upon?

I'll take Canada any time, if it means less arrogance, crime, apathy, ugliness and lousy attitude, violence, obsessive-compulsive behavior, conformity, etc.

Also I hate it when people in Canada try to generalize the U.S, and act like all of it is Compton California. How can one generalize a land which has tropical Hawaii, all the way to Maine, New Mexico to Alaska. The U.S has it all, one could spend their whole life in the U.S and not get bored of it. Everything Canadians think they have, you can find a better version of it in the U.S, the New England border states (Vermont, Maine etc.) offer...
