Poland is in NATO. Russia won't touch it. Furthermore, the US doesn't need that tech in Poland and the Czech Republic to be superior to Russia. The Russians lost aircraft fighting Georgia . 'Nuff said.

"Omnileech" U dunno, OP, what implications does changing nothing have? i swear to god, the way the press carry on about international relations, you'd think that a venezuelan diplomat in spain breaking wind in a bistro was a ground shaking enough event to start a war between bolivia and columbia. seems to me like people imagine this s**t is more complex and ridiculous then ...

"Resid3nt" still in the cold war, eh? Putin et consortes certainly - he even said dispersion of soviet union to be biggest tragedy of XX century - obviously blind to things Stalin did in the same country... Quote: Poland is in NATO. "Van Evok" erm, ever heard of starting of WW1? some dumb terrorrist shot buffon aristocrat hated by own family, then series of affronting political messages resulted in wholesale mobilization in Europe's big powers, and once armies took to the field there was no going back... Or you could read a little history and learn that the Great War had been building up for the previous 43 years, ...

"Texinadawolf" Russia would not dare invade poland The European Union would respone yes, by sending Putin invitation for a girls party with Berlusconi razz Germans would be probably disturbed by seeing russian tanks 100km from Berlin, but with pacifism rampant, i doubt anything real would be done, with Russian nukes menacingly waved...

Invictus_88 dio777 If your talking about the EU, then I believe only Britain and France possess nuclear weapons, and only Britain has a sophisticated enough delivery system to pose a serious danger to say Russia for example. The French use cruise missiles dont they ? France and the UK both have sufficient delivery systems, and the French have a much broader range of warhead delivery systems than the UK. Id actually like to see some more...

You know, I'd prefer to know that "missile defense" actually works as a defense against missiles before betting the farm on it by antagonizing the Russian Federation by installing it in eastern Europe. It's hard to take the 100% success rate reported in more recent tests seriously after the 75% failure rate in the early ones. And the eh...multiple subcontractors exploding. Though I guess that's a given with...
