Hello Everyone, I'm trying to finally use USMT 3.0.1 with SCCM 2007 SP1 R2.  Instead of using a USMP, I'm trying to have the user state saved locally in a folder called C:\_USMStore because we have a number of users who are in offices with BDP's that don't have a tremendous amount of disk space.  I have created a "fresh" task sequence setup exactly the way that Microsoft describes in the ...

Here's some more information that might be helpful.  These errors show up in the loadstate.log file. Error [0x0802e3] SelectTransport: OpenDevice failed with Exception: class Mig::DeviceException: Win32ErrorException: Error(3), (NULL). Ok, another update.  After bringing up the Console during the TS process, I watched when the folder _USMStore dissapeared.  When the task sequnce was "Wiping Disk."  So, for some reason, the "_SMSTSUserStatePath" task sequence variable isn't doing it's job. Am I somehow applying the task sequence variable wrong?

Instead of reinventing the wheel... use MDT 2010 Zero Touch together with ConfigMgr 2007, it has readymade scripts for storing the data locally during a refresh.
