Correct. Witek says that only the 8-cyl is affected. Can't remember which yours is. Even so, 50000 of all 8-cyls between '99-'02 the odds are in your favor.

Well I have owned a 00' 430 for about a month now with 122k on it. knock on wood the only thing that has happened is the esp light comes on randomly and goes off. A rough idle one day that cleared up due to a code po306 with the cel that cleared as well. Who knows. Mike

Drivers side front. Follow the brake line and fuel line down. Make sure there is proper clearance and they are routed in a way that they can not rub on each other.

Sorry to hear that but I believe that is an issue that has been discussed here, along with the even more dangerous fuel line that does a similar routing and the less dangerous radiator hose that rubs against another piece. Check them lines people. These problems were supposed to have been fixed from MY02+ vehicles, but every time I look in the hood of my MY05, I wonder what the heck they fixed - I'm still uncomfortable about the routing...

Which wheel was it on? how can i check for this issue?
