Thread: Two questions about the Kontrol X1 DJ Controller

If anyone has the answer on them I have been checking it out at: http://www.djdeals.com/nativeinstrum...RKONTROLX1.htm 1. Wanted to know if anyone has tried using this with Ableton 7 or 8 and if so does it work well enough to dj with it using this controller or is it not compatible at all? 2. Does it work as a cross-fader for your DJ software be it Tractor or Ableton or must you use a mixer?

It supports midi, so you can use it in anything that supports midi, which would be ableton or just abut any audio app these days. Your still going to have to map it by hand though just like any other controller that doesnt have a map built into ableton. It doesnt have a crossfader on it, so if you wanted to use it as one you would have to map one of the knobs to the ableton/traktor crossfader.
