Here's the response I got when I asked McDermott a several months ago.

I have a customer that wants his G-Core shaft turned down to 12.25 mm. He wants it turned because he likes a smaller diameter and there is a dent that turning would remove.
I can't seem to find any specs on the shaft as to how much wood is over the core. Can it be turned down that far?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
