Hi there,
I'm trying to get my NETGEAR WPN111 wireless router to connect to my eMac. I have a USB adaptor that is supposed to carry the connection after I have installed a CD. However the CD setup is an .exe which wont work on Macs.
I downloaded Darwine and Crossover which are supposed to allow you to run windows programmes on mac(?) off of my laptop and transferred them over to my Mac...
Install Vista on Bootcamp drive with no CD
i have recently downloaded a version of vista (full) and want to install it on the bootcamp partition. Only problem is i dont have a cd to insert when it ask for one. It came in .iso format so i also downloaded PowerISO. Now im trying to find some research on how ...
Sorry, but a downloaded ISO version of Vista is against the law and thus against the rules here at Mac Forums. We do not allow discussion of any pirated software.

Vista can be purchased directly from Microsoft as a disk image, but I don't believe it's in ISO format. Regardless, the tool that burns it to a disc is Windows-only, so to answer the question - if you have a downloaded (legit) version of Vista, you would need access to a PC to create the disc that will be needed to install Vista....
Hi all!
I need Windows just for IE (yeah, **** happens), but I wonder whether Parallels eats too much battery resources, 'cause I'm running two operating systems at a time. Or am I wrong?
Paralles is much better for me, but the matter of extra power consumption stops me
Boot Camp trackpad support drives me crazy...
Using Boot Camp, I created a 32GB partition, formatted to NTFS with Windows installer and installed XP Pro Service Pack 2, no problems. I put my disc with Service pack 3 in, did the system config check and told me it wants 4 more MB??? Got rid of around 50 MB and tried again, same result. I let XP go through all the updates, when it hit Service Pack 3, same again! Anyone out there ever run into ...
Are you sure you formatted it in NTFS? It sounds like you're using FAT32.
If so, it's easy enough to fix. Just open up the command prompt in Windows, then type the following:
Code:
convert c: /FS:NTFS
Just a quick note to fellow newbies... search the past posts really well
and you'll likely find the answer to your question like I just did. Update
Boot Camp for Windows to 2.1, problem solved!
Hi everyone,
I've got a Macbook pro core2 Duo @2.20 GHz with 2 Gb RAM and I noticed that when I run Task Manager in Windows, it say
'Commit charge: xxxM / 4025M'
So it seems that he believes that he's got 4GB RAM, instead of 2...
Has anyone already encountered the same problem?
thanks a lot in advance !
Hi,
I'm trying to run protools on my macbook pro (core 2 duo 2.2GHz, 2GB RAM) in windows, and it's really bad (needs very large playback buffer size, and stops playback very often when when moving parameters in plugins...)
I've read that it was better to turn off multi threading... but since my laptop is a Mac there's no BIOS !!
Does anyone knows how I can turn multi threading off ?...

Not sure if this is what you're referring to because referrining to...
I'm having a difficult time understanding your post... but it may be that you do not have the correct drivers installed for Windows or the display settings are not setup correctly. Since it works OK on the Mac side and does not work with Windows, that's a good possibility. A projector is like an external display. You have to choose the correct resolution and color depth. Also, make sure Windows recognizes the pocket projector before...

Of course he can't do that because he already deleted Fusion. If the Spotlight approach doesn't work, the simplest thing might be to reinstall Fusion, then follow those instructions. The reinstall should detect your virtual machine. Once you delete the VM from within Fusion, you can delete Fusion again. Should work, although personally I have not tried it. Good luck.
I've read in many places that speed matters when burning images but I've had plenty of success burning at fast speeds. I'm sure the failure rate is higher at higher speeds but as you found out, faster speeds can work just as well.
Since it's done it 2x now I would go for a PCI USB card just in case. I wonder if there was a power surge at one point? I know you have it plugged into a UPS, but who knows.
I'm running Windows7, Fedora12, openSUSE11.1 and Kubuntu 9.10 VM's (one at a time) on my MacBook Air 1.86Ghz/2GB RAM with no issues. Virtual Box is an excellent virtualization product and makes switching around between OS's for work or play very easy. It's free, so why not try it?

OS X was first released in 2001, and the last update to OS 9 (9.2.2) was released in the 2001-2002 timeframe...so that means it's been 7-8 years since OS 9 was...
