Healthy Morneau yes, but this guy was hanging around the Mendoza line Post All-star break and Cuddyer has been very Morneau-like since taking over at 1B.
Completely agree, he had a horrible second half compared to pre all-star break. But with the addition of any good hitter in a line-up it is going to help, and Morneau is a beast. as someone else said, when he's healthy.
I mean, I guess true... I think they have a decent chance to win it right now (as a Twins fan) with pitchers getting hot at the right time, cabrera finding some power and cuddyer hitting out of his mind. So a healthy player 2 years removed from MVP would definitely help, so they would probably be odds on favorites for it, in my opinion.
I'll be different and say... False. I don't want my cleanup hitter to have a mediocre .736 OPS in September. His replacement (Cuddyer) has a career Sept/Oct. OPS 99 points higher. BTW, Cuddyer's slugging a beastly .618
