I think you can probably do this through your Finnish bank. We take out travel insurance with Nordea when we holiday outside the EU. Also, if you paid for your tickets with a credit card you might be covered through that company (eg Visa, Mastercard) check your contract and/or ask your bank. Easyjet probably offer insurance too, but usually you have to buy it when you book the tickets. For ...

Thanks for that, At the time, I didn't think I would need it but like things in life, they change. Not too worried about health insurance in the UK (the great thing about the NHS, its free to get things off them i.e swine etc but at least you will be treated for free) Its mainly to cover any loss from paying out for flights and car hire

I don't think being British is enough to guarantee you can walk into any surgery and get treatment. I would take the Euro Health card with you to be on the safe side. ...

Of course not any surgery but if you are still registered at your old one, i.e where my parents live then its free to see someone

But how could you be registered there if you are resident in Finland? Just curious. I can understand that they would be willing to treat you as a favour (my folks live in a small village and I once got treatment for one of my kids there, as a favour). But in theory, if you are resident in Finland then you are no longer covered by the NHS in the UK. In other words, your local GP can't count...

I've never told them. I told them once when i move to sheffield to uni and it was such a hassel, i decided to register back. I think they have to keep you records for so many years, think its 5. But My assumption is that its not like the dentist where you must go every 6 months. If you are fine, there is no need to go and with the NHS being over run, they would rather not see you than for ...
