Thread: Travel Insurance for Independent bookings

Started 5 months, 4 weeks ago by millionaireadventure
Hi, Does anyone know if you can get travel insurance for independent bookings that cover cancellation of the whole holiday if one part falls through? The reason I am asking is that I am trying to plan a trip to South Africa for next years world cup and have already had 2 hotels cancel on me after taking on-line bookings and I am worried that nearer the time there may be no other accommodation...

Take a tent! - no serously, you'd be better off calling a reputable insurer (cheap is not always the best) most decent IC's will cover what you need but may charge you a little more. Avoid Axa at all costs. Try Post Office (Fortis ins) or PJ Hayman in Eastleigh, Norwich Union, and Tesco. But you do need to speak to them don't just do it on-line.
