Thread: Traction Control

Started 2 months, 2 weeks ago by sgstudster1796
Just a quick question....... when the traction control is on and the computer picks up any wheelspin is this going to work like a anti-lock brake system? Or is going to pull a bunch of timing out to try to stop the wheel spin that way? Thanks Jaimie

I understand how both work, but am curious. Thank you for any feedback that you can provide. - Hal, from Iowa. LSD - A differential fitted with a mechanism that limits the speed and torque ...

The Chrysler traction control uses the brakes to stop the spinning wheel. In extreme cases it will tell the engine to reduce power but only in extreme, prolonged events. Chrome nut.. How did you kill the clutch? I can't see how. I run mine out constantly and have never had a problem with my 06 GT with Stage 1. Did you miss a shift? I know if you accidently go from 3 to 2nd at full speed ...

During the little snow I drove in last year with the PT, I played with the traction control (and ABS) quite a bit. It worked as advertised though not without some disconcerting clunky noises. Though not impressed; it was probably as good or better than a limited slip diff...
