I see everyone running for the 9700 because of the trackpad.I was wondering is there anyone who still loves there trackball? I have played with the trackpad on the 8520 and I just can't grasp the feel for it like my trackball.Maybe I'm the last of a dying breed. But I like the trackball much better than the trackpad. If there are anymore trackball fans out there speak up now. So I won't ...
I don't like the trackball. It tends to move when I'm trying to click on links. I haven't tried the trackpad out yet but I'm sure I'd like that one better.

Well if it would be possible to mod a track pad like the track ball then who knows till then the track ball rocks ^_^ due to customisability. Quote:

I love, love, love my trackball! I have a trackpad on my laptop and hate it. I wish it came with a trackball too. You are definitely not alone.

I think the jury is still out on this one, I've also tried the trackpad and it does seem more stable, but I still like the trackball

I've never personally used a trackpad, though I wanna try it out.
However, I do very much love my trackball and could see where that might not work all that well for me. I have fat, greasy fingers, so touch screens are hard for me to work. While I don't know how the trackpad works, I'm guessing it's not gonna like my fingers much, because nothing in that technology realm does....

i enjoy my trackball, i just don't like its known inconsistencies from time to time. It would have been nice to see rim master the trackball before introducing the trackpad....
