Thread: Tourist visa for Turkey

Could someone clarify whether my husband (pakistani national residing in UK with ILR) be able to apply for a tourist visa at the gates upon arrival in turkey. We would like to go for a holiday there soon and the turkish embassy website does not make it clear whether he will need to apply in person at the embassy prior to departure for a tourist visa or whether he can apply at immigration in turkey , which is what I will need to do (I am a UK...

The ability to pay at the border is restricted to a few nationalities, it appears all Pakistani citizens regardless of status in the UK need to obtain a visa prior to travel.

Turkish Prime Minister Mr T Erdogan has announced that they have now signed a visa agreement with Pakistan and Syria. Turkish Nationals will be free to travel without visa to those countries and at the same time Pakistani and Syrian nationals won't need visa to travel to Turkey as a visitor for the time of 3 months

I don't think this is true looking at the hassle I had to go through to get a tourist visa in September. On our way to Pakistan, we wantd to stay in Istanbul for 2 days ( partly because the flight with such stopover was the cheapest ) and the Turkish embassy here in Warsaw took 16 days to process the visa even after they asked for hell lot of information. This was more difficult than getting visit visa for Canada ! My polish wife however...
