Hi there,
I just bought Darkfall yesterday and started playing.
The problem is, I got no idea what to do. There is just a quick "how to move" tutorial at the beginning and nothing else. I can run around and then get owned by goblins all the time. And once every 30 minutes, I see another player, who kill me then.
I'm doing something wrong?
Usually I get a headache after 10 minutes ...
Join a clan and find a role to play. There's no point just running around and fighting mobs. You need a goal to succeed.

You can disbale most interface windows and change there size to something that fits on your screen for one.
Also there is a good bit of help in the menu you by default access by right-clicking.
That people kill you and other new players is common, even that they take the to them worthless gear those people carry. Learn to live with it as you most likely will die and lose gear often....

Remember, this is sandbox mmo, there is not going to be a clear path for you to follow. ...
you need to drop ur stat-based mentality from previous games :P

I just hoped the game would care more for new players. Its really hard to start playing, and I'm not really in the mood to read guides and so on at the moment. Got some free time today and wanted to play a nice enjoyable mmorpg.
But it seems you have to spend much time and afford into darkfall to play it?

Only some UI Windows can ...
Sorry it is hard to explain. But you have to explore the world...make your own goals there is no "How to Play DF". The Main Goal is to have fun with what you do ingame and you have to spend some time to have really fun in this game.

I think part of the reason there is a "limited pool" of players is the whole "hardcore" mentality people have. Having a convoluted interface, or needlessly going out of your way to make the controls awkward or un-userfriendly, or forcing new players to go through a set grind does not make the game more hardcore. I'm not saying the interface is over the top complicated, its just different to most games...

Not saying you wont like the game, and not saying you wont try again and stick with it but this is not a game you can pick up for 2-3...

You forked over 50 bucks for a game, yet you run it like your hardware has cost about the same...are you playing on a 10 inch screen or something? Up your resolution to at least 1280x1024 and the interface will be nicely proportional. Seriously 1024x768...no shit you get a headache after 10 mins of play..
