Thread: Torture Test

Started 3 months ago by impalacustom
I did the search and couldn't find it here. Does anyone have a link to Patrick Sweeney's torture test of the 1911? The one on advancetactical.com is a broken link now and I found Larry Vickers' test but not Sweeney's and wanted to read it again. Thanks

It used to be at: http://www.advancedtactical.com/Sweeneyarticle.pdf It looks like the link is down. I'd like to read it as well. I heard it was quite an interesting read, given Mr. Sweeney's writing style.

Where did you find Larry's. I've been looking for that one. It seems that all the threads where it was discused have vanished.

I think "torture tests" are pretty goofy for the most part. Endurance tests, however, can be telling. I think the test above with Lav was not a torture test, but a test of how the COE, at it's worst may effect the pistols. Lessons were learned. TTPs were adopted. Good poop came from it. It was a lot different then dragging a pistol behind a truck.
