That is a tough choice. I think it depends a lot on what your going to use it for mostly and what you can afford. I believe the i7 will run faster for dual core applications and definitely single core apps. 1366x768 compared to 1920x1080 is quite a leap. I needed the space for software I run so 1080 was better. By all indications, the G51J's AUO screen sucks. I don't doubt it, after owning previous AUOs... those displays are pure garbage. My G60Vx's HannStarr is pretty good for a Laptop display.
