Thread: Top Gear

Started 1 month, 1 week ago by jmo69
I'm watching Top Gear right now and they seem to be running a lot of new Camaro ads. Unless my eyes are playing tricks on me, it looks like they've got a set of angel eyes on them. Can it be?

The inline 6'ers are tough little boxes and the centrifugal blowers operate mostly in a vacuum or low pressure state which isn't a problem in terms of engine reliability. Drive any car with your foot to the floor board all the time and you'll assuredly have problems, mods or no mods. I love the looks of the 335 but it's too sluggish and will never be an M3. Stick a turbo on the M3 like ...

For the past few years I've been driving my Eclipse Spyder GST. The thing is a disaster, it's fun to drive but I spend more time working on it than I do driving it (literally). I'm in college and I commute 50 miles 1 way 5 days a week. I found a 2006 BMW 325i with 30k miles for $19k at a small dealer. I'm thinking about buying it, but I've heard owning a BMW ...

Hi guys, sorry I am new here and haven't introduced myself! I also apologize if this isn't the correct forum. Anyways I own a 2006 BMW 325i, it has about 56K miles. My iDrive has indicated that I need to have service done due to my front brake pads worn down to minimum depth. I called the nearest BMW stealership and they are telling me it will cost $621....

This is a question best left for the guys in the General BMW Mechanical Help section of the forum...not the General BMW Discussion section. Try reposting there or having this thread towed there. Good luck!

I want out of my lease...I think?

100 point hit to your credit score? Jesus. I talked to a lawyer about a year ago who said that if it's not done in an absolutely air tight manner, damages can come back to you - and obviously that would be a disaster. So if you do try to get someone to "take over your lease," be extremely careful about it.

Rims fused to hubs

Yeah, they can be hard to get off. Follow the steps above and you should get it. When my friend sold his car last winter we helped the new owner switch the summer tires over to the winter rims real quick, but we couldn't get the sum bitches off. We tried to be gentel but the new owner ended up just taking a min sludge to it. We both about shit ourselves, wondering why the fuck are we letting him take ur baby away like this.

how much gas is wasted idling?
Published (2009-12-08 02:40:00)
I don't understand all the hype of: "idling the engine for prolonged periods is bad for the engine" Sure - a little more carbon compared to on the throttle (if running correctly). But it's no different than sitting in traffic. If I want to be warm in my car, and chill-out, and listen to music, I'll start that bad-boy up and do it - give it a few revs every few minutes too - just to listen to that sweet motor....

This is probably a question better left for the people in the General BMW Mechanical Help section of the forum. Try posting a thread in that section or having this thread towed there. Good luck!

BMW Navigation
Published (2009-12-07 23:24:00)
You may need to update your disk. My 2001 e38 has restaurants and gas stations listed in the options but I don't have any in my area because the 2001 disk I have did not yet have the detailed roads and attractions for my area or even Pittsburgh. I know the new ones do have it. I can even search for those places using voice control and my car is 8 years old! I am surprised to see that a 2007 BMW would have a disk based nav system.

BMW Coolant $$?
Published (2009-12-06 15:46:00)
Haha only in Russia/Scandanavia or Alaska would you even start to need the 1:1 mix. For you guys with E36's that say that your BMW must have this blue coolant...what do you think E36's were getting filled with at service when there was no BMW blue?
