Well I'll just start out, here's my current specs: AMD Phenom II 940 @ 4.0GHz GIGABYTE UD4P DDR2 mobo 4GB (2x2gb) G-Skill DDR2 1066MHz 1x Western Digital 7200RPM 80Gb SATA HDD 1x Western Digital 7200RPM 640Gb SATA HDD ATI Sapphire 4890 @ 1.0GHz Corsair TX750W PSU Modded Coolermaster 699 Case Pioneer DVD/CD R/W 5.25" drive XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler 2x Logysis ...

not, your system will run everything fine as is, its not worth the extra $$$.

That's not much of an upgrade, performance-wise... certainly unnecessary, but it's your choice.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking. But my concern is, AMD is pushing out PII's pretty quickly, and I'm still using DDR2. So the longer I wait, the less I will be able to get for my system. Whereas, I feel theres a little more room for expansion, and the i7 system will stay "top of the line" a bit longer. But like I said, I'll take all the responses into consideration. Weston

Here's how I typically determine when to upgrade:  When I'm unable to run games (or other needed programs) at acceptable settings.  Of course, what you consider "acceptable" is open to interpretation.   Looking at your system, I can't see an upgrade (to anything currently on the market) gaining enough performance to be worth the effort.  Your biggest performance gain (and it would be ...

Thanks for the responses guys. Powwow, thats what I've been thinking, but I don't want to wait long enough where my system isn't worth much. Egglick, my native res is 1920x1200.  Weston
