Time to re-examine rights of Second Amendment
Posted: November 11, 2009
Trying to understand the tragedy at Fort Hood doesn't require too much analysis. An angry, frustrated, depressed man who cannot stand his circumstances or face his future decides not only to end his own life but to avenge himself on the group he ...
Yes, STOP RESTRICTING IT! These mass shootings aren't happening at gun shows and gun ranges. They are happening in gun-restriced zones, where the shooter knows he is safe from immediate attack.

That's too logical for the simple minded that continue to balme...

Amen brother. These same nannies that are out to encroach ...
I am going to write an op-ed piece asking to re-examine the First Amendment rights and see how far that goes. I don't care if someone is anti-gun (or anti-whatever), the bigger problem is people actually believing one can cherry pick rights based on the flavor of the month.

Exactly what I thought when I read the article. As a matter of fact, SCOTUS ruled that the right to keep and bear arms is an INDIVIDUAL right irrespective of militia ...

I liked the idea of what this opinion piece would look like if it applied to the First Amendment.....the result of my brain spasm is below. The mass killings at Ft. Hood were tragic and my satirical re-write of the Indy Star OP/ED in no way minimizes that tragedy, it is only meant to show how little logic is used by people and news outlets who have the ability to influence so many ...
My concern when presenting my SATIRE was that it would not be taken as satire. If you read my twist on the OP original article from the Indy Star, please understand I was presenting what a LIBERAL might write about the FIRST Amendment, using the same logic (really lack of logic) the writer of the original OP/ED used in his article. Please read my entire rewrite, just seeing a cut and paste section could be misunderstood as supporting control...
This article written by the writer at IndyStar, is totally leaned to one side.... Lets not ignore the facts here: 1. This killer was giving all the warning signs, FOR YEARS... not days before his killing spree 2. Our military has been forced by these "other" groups to NOT OFFEND anyone by telling it how it is... that they totally are negligent in allowing this to happen.. IMHO. 3. With the mental instability this killer...

Just as at Virginia Tech, many, many red lights and alarms went off about these shooters, but were ignored...
I think we too often overlook what we perceive to be merely "stupid" and get a bit myopic about what is really an "agenda". The penultimate goal of any police state (even those who see themselves as benevolent) is a disarmed populace. Don't ever think there aren't people that fervently believe your life could be better lived under their (smarter/wiser/more enlightened) control. The absolute last...
"People that is not the point of the second... "People that is not the point of the second amendment, the second amendment
is not about duck hunting...its about our rights to be able to protect our
self from all of you guys up there."
