Thread: Time Capsule (access from a Win XP box)

Started 1 year, 9 months ago by maddcovv
I have my time capsule setup (green light and all) I can backup to it. I can access it and its folders from my new MBP. I can run the windows (and/or apple) Airport Utility and see and configure the TC within the utility but I can not access it like a network drive on the XP box. I thought I saw somewhere to enter a workgroup name for PC networks but can't find it now...

If all you have on it is your time machine back ups I do not think you would be able to see anything. I could be wrong though.

I created 3 empty folders on the TC. Also of note when I start windows I get a prompt that comes up "The AirPort Disk "name" became available. What do you want to do? I try connect with password but it comes back Could not connect to Disk Make sure NetBIOS is enabled and try again (53) Netbios is enabled on this machine.

fixed it by creating guest access on the TC and letting guests have read/write access. rebooted XP computers and got in with guest permissions
