Tigers minor league prospects rated by TigsTown and scout.com with over 200 players, I will list about 30. If there is a player not listed and wondering about him, ask in a post. Again the minor league website is top notch and the best one to read up on every player with in depth info on them. The billing is quarterly, semi-annual and annual. and worth subscribing to. ...
There are several stories-chapters from the TigsTown-scout.com Tigers minor league site that are interesting reads. I am unable to copy and paste for your viewing due to a request early in 2007 not to. I will however give you in my words a short partial rating description of the Tigers minor leaguers for different abilities. Hitting for Average: 1 - Gorkys Hernandez-traded 2 - ...
Thanks KC... with all the hype surrounding our pitching prospects, many of these guys get overlooked. Hopefully Larrish and Worth can keep improving and be ready to go by 09. I wonder if Larrish will become trade bait because of Guillen's move to 1b...
Holliman sounds like the real deal. Great defense, excellent arm, switch hitter with power, plate discipline and speed. I hope he replaces Infante/Santiago/Neifi as the utility infielder. A bench of Holliman, V. Wilson, Raburn and Thames (assuming the Tigers sign a LHB LF) would be ideal IMO. Worth and Iorg (apparently not graded) seem like the real deal also.
Trahern = Cornejo (both sinkerball pitchers) First 4 years in Minors (both up to the age of 21) Cornejo 84 GS 36 W 511.6 IP 474 H 191 BB 381 SO 3.36 ERA 1.30 WHIP 1.99 SO/BB Trahern 84 GS 27 W 500.3 IP 491 H 152 BB 270 SO 3.38 ERA 1.29 WHIP 1.78 SO/BB (Cornejo had 4 games at AAA, Trahern has had only 1) It is just me, but I would never have Trahern anywhere in the top 20 for this ...
Early Version of Tiger's Top 10 Prospects without Jurrjens and Gorkys: (1) Maybin , OF- Take that dtmfr. (2) Porcello, RHP - A young version of Verlander. (3) EDLC, RHP/Closer - 2 of the best pitches in the Tiger's minor league system. Maybe Tigers' loser of the future. (4) Iorg, SS (3B/2B?)- Possible 5 tool position player. Hasn't played pro ball in 2 years while on Mormon mission. IMO,...
nickerson Jonah Nickerson 7th round pick in 2006, pitched alot of innings while leading Oregon State to the college world series. He was starting to regain his velocity and had more success with the Tigers minor league staff. His stuff is graded out as average, but he is a battler on the mound with the \

wilk has been very impressive since being drafted like avila last year. regardless of the levels he has been pitching at, 75 strikeouts to 7 walks is just dealing. he'll be a tiger to watch for next year, i imagine he'd be in lakeland, hopefully they dont rush him and jump him two levels like they did with kibler this season.
I didnt think there was to much concern about his shoulder from what i have been hearing. However, do you really think that he will be a sep call up? From what Leyland says about not wanting too many players up for September, I am not sure who would get the call up. You would think players like Sizemore, Streiby, Fien, should be up, and maybe ramirez and satterwhite. Who do you think or would like to see brought up sept.1? 1-2 relief...
Keep in mind, Guzman is eligible to declare for minor league free agency in the coming weeks (five days after the World Series is complete); as is Timo Perez.
I swear we have to many games postponed here lol. This is like 7 times this month we have had a game called because of rain lmao. God I hate rainy season down here it kills my baseball schedule lol.

Local product Dan Fields predicted in the 2nd round. I wouldn't mind the Tigers drafting him. I've seen him play a couple of times (for those familiar with the field U of D plays at, he hit a HR over the houses in RF) and he was very impressive. He is certainly a very hard worker and him and his dad work on his swing constantly. Will be interesting to follow his pro career if he chooses to sign this year or head to Michigan. GHG,...
