Thread: Tiger fighting his swing again..

Started 3 weeks, 5 days ago by Forte408
Playing badly from tee to green again, but making some big putts to save par. Couple those struggles with a red hot Dufner, and Tiger's three shot lead is already gone.

With all the talk of the bad driver, he's not even close off the tees with three wood either today.

Just tuning in...have I missed anything good?

tacodude2101 replied 3 weeks, 4 days ago
seems like he is always fighting his swing.

Az, not much good from Tiger. Lots of good from the guys currently on the top. Tiger has been all over the map, he just blocked a 3-wood onto the wrong hole, and somehow got his 2nd shot on the green. Dufner and Chalmers are playing some very good golf up to this point.

Az, I wasn't sure if he let it go right there. Looked like he just flung it threw the air with one hand holding it. The announcers were talking about his club throw in a recent tournament I think.

I thought I saw someone handing his driver back to him from the crowd and he was wearing the same shirt ...

Maybe. I wasn't totally paying attention either. His frustration level is at a max with this current swing, that's for sure.

Maybe. I wasn't totally paying attention either. His frustration level is at a max with this current swing, that's for sure.     It looked just now like he aimed way left on that second shot into this par 5 and just cut it in there. A sure sign that he has zero confidence in a conventional straight shot..

Yup. But before the season I remember there being talk of him going to a power fade in times like this to give himself a shot he felt he could rely on if things go astray.

Yeah Az. It will be interesting to watch. If he loses, it would be 3 straight 36 hole leads thrown out the window. He just has no confidence in his swing right now, and even though it's a weak field, a strong showing tomorrow could be a nice confidence builder to end the season.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen this scenario unfold in tournaments held on the sandbelt- Someone four or five shots off the pace posts a solid 65 or 66 and ends up winning as the last few groups struggle with more difficult conditions. I have a weird feeling this might happen again tomorrow.

The club throwing and frustration has been bad for Tiger as of late. He's struggling more than ever to control his frustration. It's pretty sad to watch actually, and I'm the biggest Tiger fan there is. I have no big problems with the random curse words or club slamming after a bad shot once in a while, but downright throwing the club and getting this aggravated this often has no real place in the game, IMO.     Can you...

I think he's got a lot of work to do in the off-season and a win tomorrow will require getting lucky with good timing in his...

Good to finally see some well deserved criticism of Tiger...Like could you imagine him losing 3 straight 36 hole leads ever before? Once he got close to the leader, be it 1st round, 2nd round, 3rd round, it  used to be game over! Now will anybody be even surprised if he doesn't win tomorrow? I know I won't...His game is in shambles, everybody expects a big year out of him next season but I can't see him doing much better than...
