Listing favourite threads of the past, perhaps? Or hailing absent friends?
I don' know much about squashing buttons, Cul, but I'm sure it's a wonderful pass-time.

Well, if you would dedicate this important thread to lil auld me...
It turns out I had forgotten my password as well as my head. Still alive, if only barely kicking. Thank you Interference for remembering my disappearance (and in red!)
Hope you are all in good spirits or whatever it is you are drinking.

Re: Thread #50,000... I hope you're wrong, Mosaix. I have no objection of course to the exchange of strongly-held opinion, but temperamentally I have a preference for reasoned debate or light-hearted discourse. But perhaps I'm in the minority, here as in RL.

So long as that remains true, the fact that politics are taking over the discussions in World Affairs (and more recently in Science/Nature) doesn't really worry me. Well, it worries me to the extent...
I was doing basically what Cul was doing, except for PTerry rather than GRRM - I was intrigued by this site that was so friendly and busy : and it didn't treat n00bs as scum, either. Lurked for a while, then took the plunge... Mind you, if I'd known just how much time it was going to carve out of my leisure hours... How did I end up here? I typed scfi and fantasy forums into google and here I am. Of all the forums I found that day this is the only one I still visit regularly. Mind you I got locked in basement in my first week still haven't found the way out Speaking of anniversary and momentous occasions, I notice one of our best assets, a fountain of knowledge I.E a certain goblin princess will be celebrating five years of chronicles this month....
