New PGA Tour policy giving rank-and-file players indigestion | Tours News | Golf.com
Something to keep in mind while you read: the "rank and file" players the anonymous pro is referring to (i.e., numbers 50-110 on the money list) made between $950k and $1.65M in 2008.

I have a friend who use to do the Long Driving Contest thing up in Mesquite Nevada. Just crazy long back about 10 years ago. He could average over 300 with what seemed like little effort. We would golf at a course near St George Utah, that had a carry over a canyon of 230 yards, with another 20 yards of hard ground before the ball could reach the fairway. He always reached the fairway on the ...

What a jerk. What did he think reporters were going to ask?

I have never been a fan of Perry. I always thought he "liked" himself too much, which seems to be the way a few of these tour players act, and think of themselves. Nothing wrong with putting his own son on the bag, but a real poor way of doing it. No class, and no respect on Perry's part. His dismissed caddy will find another bag.
Obviously Perry could care less what folks think, or write ...

There is one major problem with this event. It is not aired live. I hope I am wrong, but my gut feeling says this will be a chop shop job showing very little golf and much more in the way of an infomercial for the island.
I agree with v3.0 on this one. Not exactly easy to win at age 49. He might get a couple more but I doubt he reaches 20. I don't see a major happening either. He came close last year so he may have a chance this year at Augusta. Likely his last good shot. Can he get into the HOF for what he does on the Senior Tour (I know, Champions!)? Because I agree that he'll likely be one of the dominators, at least for the first four or five...

He has 5 over the last 2 years, so it is a reachable goal perhaps. So this topic is about him, his career and his future. Will he win a Major? Will he get to 20 wins?...

Will he win a major? He has a chance, especially if the great one, during his hiatus, misses quite a few of them. All he has to do is play well for 72 holes, for that week, just like some of the previous, one time winners. 20 wins? More likely for him than winning a major. He can pick and chose the right tournaments to play in to reach that milestone. The Golf HOF, according to some, is watered down, which is tough to argue against, regardless...
I think he has a shot at a major this year, especially with Tiger out. Perry has been pretty hot these last two years, I dont see why he would cool down now. I think it might be time to bump up the age to 55 or 60 for the Champions tour. 50 just doesnt seem that old anymore.
