"Striper wars" is a good study in why a national or regional organization is needed.
I think this is a great move, but a challenging one. People's livelihoods are at stake.
Yeah, ditto w/ the replies above. This may be interpreted as a more comprehensive, integrated step forward in managing / conserving our ocean resources. Of course, the devil is in the deatils. Sorry, but I guess I need a clunk on the head.... Why should I be scared?
Hopefully some good ideas will come from this effort, but I have yet to see the federal government develop and effectively implement any program or poilcy that didn't eventually cause more harm than good. I want to protect the oceans' resources as much as anyone but I also know that politics is basically b_llsht_t elevated to a profession, so you'll have to excuse me for not counting on the ...
I agree with lots of these posts! IF done right, this could be a very good

date of the government to view these ecosystems in a more complex and
extensive conceptual framework is a major shortcoming in much of our
resource/ecosystem management-extensive interagency cooperation under a
common ocean-based doctrine would be ...
