Thread: Things (films etc.) that remind you of Salvia?

Started 9 months, 2 weeks ago by Ascended
To date, only one film has come close to representing Salvia space for me and that's Fantastic Planet (IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070544/ ). It was so memorable for me that I even made a review for it and making the connections to the abstract, allegorical, and metaphorical aspects of the base reality constructed in the film that can remind one of Salvia's reality (which you can read ...

Just got done watching Alice in Wonderland for the first time in forever. It's so much more meaningful to me now than when I was a kid. I saw many connections with my own Salvia experiences. It's hard to believe the story was written without somw psychedelic influence. It's my new favorite movie.

Speaking of Alice in Wonderland, Tim Burton's is my most anticipated new movie. He is definitely one of my favorite directors and I can't wait to see his take on the story. I imagine it will be much darker than the disney version Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter? Oh, the anticipation! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_i...nd_(2010_fi lm) Quote: "As reported in ...

The G20 protests in London were intensely psychedelic, and the whole space seemed very reminiscent of the carnival/church fete/festival/riot scenario which i keep being shown with Salvia. The police lines acted in a very similar way to the scanning boundaries of Salvia. entire realities, temporary jamborees were being formed within these boundaries which were twisting and folding chaotically, ...

Haha salvialover... that music on the third video. Just watched Eraserhead for the first time last night actually. Can't say I was reminded of salvia but I wasn't really thinking about it. The music to the second part of that video was from American McGee's Alice, I believe. And yes Salvia reminds me of Alice. I have felt the presence of (never seen) the Mad Hatter, mini Alice, and ...

@expanding...there was a fair amount, but truthfully, i was so submerged in the graphics, truthfully, the experience wasnt jarring. Perhaps if you were motion sensitive, and sat close...comared to other 3d movies, it wasnt as jarring. Much smoother..nice large grey glasses.. And Here is a new find..a Twilight Zone id never seen before... gentle reminders everywhere.. "A World of Difference"......

Deja vu! Well, the intertwined branches and bodies... Not the humping. This image came back to SWIM's mind after one of his earliest visits. He remembered this part of the story it portrays.

I just saw eXistenZ. That was not what I was expecting.. expecting something more like 13th Floor. Instead it was more like Celestine Prophecy's atmosphere.. where the viewer is purposefully not engaged as much as usual films try to immerse you in them. LowSix - how is the violence in Avatar? The trailer seemed like it was a lot of loud fighting... is it just a small part? Here's an open question to all- what's the most...
