Many people may not like her but I think Jennifer did an incredible job playing Puchi. Plus if you saw the pictures of the real Puchi at the end of the movie you would see that Jennifer looks alot like Puchi. The resemblance is incredible. Plus that would be retarded to have a Mexican like Hayek or Cruz play the role of a Newyorican when you have J-Lo who is a real Newyorican.

Salma Hayek speaks three languages. She's Lebanese as well as Mexican, not Spanish. J.Lo is from New York and is Puetro Rican, not Spanish. Plus J.Lo produced it, she had more to do with the movie. And I believe Marc Anthony was highly influenced by Hector Levoe.

I dont think the actresess you mentioned would do an interpretation as a newyorican the way that Jennifer did. She was marvelous`as Puchie. she was aunthentic, and credible, many people that met Puchie, were very impressed with her acting, because what they saw was Puchie not Jennifer in the screen.
