Okay, I stole this idea from another website, but it was part of a weekly blog there, and died after seven days passed, as the next blog topic was underway.
So, now that I have given at least anonymous credit for an idea that is not my own, I thought this was such a good idea that it might be one of those threads that goes on, and on, and on, and -- well, you get the idea.
Here are the ...
I look at the man again. What does he want with me? A poor - yet beautiful, with my long golden hair - serving maid in the Count's employ? Save for the strange birthmark on my shoulder, hidden now by the chestnut-brown, but shape-revealing, uniform of the Count's service, I was no different from the other serving wenches. And this handsome man, with his dark, flashing eyes and rugged sword, ...

A rugged sword? Is that a euphemism?...
As he glanced at me, I felt the heat rise to my cheeks. Blushing furiously, I turned away, and started to clear the pewter tankards and empty wooden stew-bowls from the table just vacated by a group of the Count's soldiers.

Suddenly, the relative calm was broken by an insane cackle (certified as such by the royal sanity testers) Mad Meg! (Actually, her name wasn't Margaret, but Armena, but the village had its standards to maintain) "Beware! A darkness rises in the East!! You'll all get what's coming to you…" This last would doubtless have terminated in three exclamation marks, but her son, assisted by another ...

'A darkness in the East,' I say, still blushing as the dark-eyed and ruggedly handsome, stranger looks at me as I clear the mugs of ale, trying not to notice his flashing sword. 'That is the same thing as was said to my aged, but still spry and hearty despite his greying head, father when he was bringing the geese to market last Goose-Fair day. Whatever can it mean?' Euphemism if you want...

Re: The fantasy collaborative cliche novel It's possibly a mercy that Daisy fainted....again as Tom in his panic at having lost sight of the subject of his unrequited but desperate love had reached in the direction he'd last seen her and, umm, uhh, sort of groped an area he would normally never have touched. Jerking back in embarrassed consternation, dismay, shame, (and secret ecstasy) his hand felt as if possibly he'd burned...
Re: The fantasy collaborative cliche novel Wiping off his blade, Tirran ran away from the area of the murder he just committed to where he had left the others, momentarily surprised at the fact that nobody appeared to be there. Keeping to the shadows, he snuck in silently, taking a chance and quaffing a potion he pulled from his pack. Immediately it burned as it went down his throat, but he saw faint outlines of his companions. "Nice...
Re: The fantasy collaborative cliche novel 'What the heck? Where've you all gone?' Rita called. 'Miss Rita,' Tom cried. 'Daisy's disappeared. And the wheelbarrow. And my arm.' 'Blug rats! Someone's swiped me toads.' I wake up. I feel as if I have been sleeping in a wheelbarrow, which is not something I have ever done before, as we have proper beds in the humble, but clean hovel which I...
"Have they gone?" Through the metal grill in the barred, locked and furniture obstructed door peered the youngest of the four village guards, Domy, son of Mad Meg. "I think so. Do we now race after them and try and hit them over the heads?" "Not unless you are secretly in the pay of the Evil Dark Overlord; but I think that id Jomy's job, no?" The indicated guard nodded miserably as he...
Re: The fantasy collaborative cliche novel "Ach! Wha'd ye do that fer, ye silver-haired pansy!?!" "Well, Guts, the crickets were in danger of taking over the descriptive passages of this novel. Someone had to do something."
The dwarf, whose name, incidentally, is Grumbleguts Stonechewer, looks up at the dragon. "Oi, you! I hope that you're going to pay for those roasted toads! Preferably with gold..." "Mmmm....gold...."
"I am sure you do but you will have to peddle your wares elsewhere m'lady for I am a married man...married to good, to justice, to She Who Watches Over Us. Alas I may not stray from my mistress. I must keep my mind clear and my Sword clean to stop the Darkness from coming" Talethius tilted his head as he spoke, looking off in the distance as if seeing something in the sky.
Re: The fantasy collaborative cliche novel A hooded figure is stood a few feet away pretending he's not listening to every word said or watching every moved made. The dark one will be pleased, he mutters to himself just as the scullery boy's rolling pin hits him between the eyes knocking him out cold. "Sorry mister, never seen you there" the scullery boy rushes over looking agog at the blood. "you...
