Thread: The Wishing Well

Started 7 months, 1 week ago by Jessy Uppal
The Wishing Well (P2P AND F2P)! Introduction This "minigame" is sort of like the Tears Of Guthix minigame where you can only do this once every week. It will require a quest which would be called "Luck of The Draw" and after completion you will be allowed to visit the wishing well once every 4 DAYS. The reason for this is, since...

It sounds like a good idea but i doubt if this idea was made that they would allow such any item for a reward. Or maybe they could use the barbarian assault lottery system. ~Omar

an interesting idea, but i'm not sure that jagex would implement something like this in its current format anytime soon. i don't think they'd ever let you explicitly choose whichever item you want (within your outlined boundaries). what i had in mind was more of a generalisation of things. for example, this is how my system would work-- EXPAND / COLLAPSE players can choose to gamble ...

goodboy7557 replied 7 months, 1 week ago
jagex does not like gambling, the only thing you have for random item is that SW ticket get random item thingy... and that kinda teaches you gambling sucks llol >.< (i learn it the hard way) but, would be interesting if this goes ahead

Maskedmatt09 replied 7 months, 1 week ago
Sounds like the reward needs to be abit bigger for the size of the quest.

I disagree with this, a lot. It would have a serious impact on the economy, with items not being gotten in the natural way of the game, e.g a Hilt/Godsword from Godwars. This would cause an influx of items into the economy, and it will end up being like the release of Bounty Worlds again for some items.

A couple spelling mistakes in here, that should be fixed. Rabbit not rabit Awesome not awesome Other than that, I think it's an okay idea, probably could use some work, but a good idea nonetheless. -Bolsh

It could be a good idea, except that it could influence gambling. There is also way to big of a selection to choose from. Shorten the selection list.

Redshift replied 7 months, 1 week ago
You say it's supposed to drain money? There's always the chance of people getting one of the spirit shields; it takes a lot of people even at 700k to pay off the money that one item brings in. Good idea in theory though.

Devin replied 7 months, 1 week ago
I think the wait should be once a week, and if you get an item over one million gp, it will be two weeks. JaGex would need to make sure that the chances of getting a rare item like an Abyssal Whip are somewhere around 10,000:1. I do agree that it would be a money sink, which is a plus. I like the concept, they have this in a lot of childrens games and it is a draw....

QUOTE (bone lord @ Sep 1 2009, 12:46 PM) hmm......intresting suggestion, this would be something nice to add for RS, and i would of course try my luck on it. and a question, will you be able to get a lv1, 2, or 3 clue scroll, or all? thats is already answered, it depends on how much Gp you drop.

Please re-read the topic carefully before you post. To emphasize the point Dan is trying to make, the original post indicates that you can only put in 100,000 (100k) coins at a time.

QUOTE (Cuda666 @ Jun 9 2009, 08:46 PM) In my opinion, that would be the best idea ever! Though, people would get lucky every week and end up getting a DFS or even better stuff and crash the market.. so I doubt this would work out well in the long run! The chances of getting such a high valued item would be very slim. Even if one million players did this the first week it comes out, only one player may get a...

I agree almost 100% with your suggestion, except for the reward items, as most people have had a problem with so far. There is absolutely no possible way you could freely receive items of high value from a wishing well, even if you had to complete a question and spend money in order to "wish" for it just once every seven days. If the cap on the item were lower, on the other hand, maybe around one-million worth maximum, this...

I think you missed the post...

Sounds good. Why throw 40k in well for Rune Scimmy when you can buy for 35k ;) --------------------

Still supporting. You obviously thought this through well, i'd just like to add that use once per week is a bit steep, maybe once every two days? This post has been edited by Greo0 : Yesterday, 11:29 PM
