Aw no it's finally gone :( This'll be a busy board I'm sure!

I've got to say I was shocked to finally see it PH'ed. We'll have to find a way to reconcile all threads in here, and I know that no matter what ship or character you prefered, we can all agree that this was an exceptional show. Thanks to TWoP for making it even better by bringing on the debate, TWW deserves and has had the best fans, lets keep it that way!

Some Emmy nominations require further review I'm not among those baffled by the nomination of "The West Wing" as best drama in its final season. It deserved the honor, concluding with a must-see campaign season that will get more attention on DVD than it did with Nielsen this season. More baffling to me was the absence of Bradley Whitford, who as campaign director Josh Lyman deserved a ...

What?!? Noooo.... Our forum...its finally gone...I knew this day would come. I just tried to deny it. All those posts...I'm afraid that I might be mourning this loss more than the actual show's ending. Now that the forum has disappeared, I have to confront the terrible truth that its really over. Well, to say something on topic, I'll pretend this is my beloved Fan Fiction thread and ask: Jen? ...

The Emmy tapes are quite good selections overall. How Institutional Memory didn't get picked over Undecideds is beyond me, and I might have gone for Transition over Requiem too, but other than that I'd say that they did a good job. The following are the submission tapes for this year's Emmys: Martin Sheen (Best Actor Drama): "Tomorrow" Allison Janney (Best Actress Drama): "...

Now that the forum has disappeared, I have to confront the terrible truth that its really over. Well, to say something on topic, I'll pretend this is my beloved Fan Fiction thread and ask: Jen? Any new updates? I need some fluff. Well I guess denial is no longer the river in Egypt. Daymn, that was fast - WW was in usual spot this am. Just a question -- is any of the stuff from the sub...

Just a question -- is any of the stuff from the sub-threads archived anywhere? (The FF subthread had some good links). Right here.

I was an occasional viewer who got hooked back into the show because of the dvds. I just started watching Season 6--saw the first Jimmy Smits episode last night-- and was wondering if anyone knows when Season 7 will be out on dvd.

Region 2 version is due out in September ... I haven't seen a U.S./Region 1 release date. Ever stand in a parking lot, turning slowly in circles, sure that you left your car right here , but it isn't there? That's how I felt today: stuck in meetings all morning, poke my head in at TWoP on a break... and we're PHed. Sigh. Time for y'all to join us in the Studio 60 thread!

"I'm going to fight for the rights of poor women as long as I don't have to eat dinner with them" thing. That describes Amy Gardner to a "T".

Abbey did greet Amy in DIW as "a friend," after hugging other staffers who were there, so that implied she had a relationship of some sort with Amy that went beyond just politics. There is also the fact that Amy's introduction into the series was via Abby. Amy started off with some special ability to ring Abby's bell. I think that Amy was correct on the gag rule issue in Privateers (S4) when she informed FLOTUS...

"I'm going to fight for the rights of poor women as long as I don't have to eat dinner with them" thing. That describes Amy Gardner to a "T". I love Amy....but yeah... See her snobby reaction to the cocktail waitress that gave Josh the extra olive in HCON172 . Then again, Josh is an elitist by his own admission- but I agree with his own admission in complete from The US Poet Laureate , "I...

ags said: To me one of the most refreshing exchanges was when Sam ran into Mallory at the opera and Mallory said that she and her hockey player boyfriend were having lots of sex, to which Sam replied, that that was obvious because they really didn't have anything else in common. That wasn't at the opera (Mallory had invited Sam to go with her to the Beijing Opera in Enemies, using Subscription tickets that originally belonged to Leo...

I'm going to let wwhk speak for me because there's no way I could ever state that better. ITA with every word about Sorkin Donna vs. post-Sorkin Donna. You hit the nail on the head many times over with that post. It was more "oh, us poor put upon men, having to listen to our wimminfolk!" That's not how I took it. That scene began with Leo telling Jed he's going to have a problem with women, just...

...people of color were largely either invisible or relegated to lesser positions... How about Fitzwallace? I don't consider the Charman of the Joint Chiefs a lesser position by any means.

Ladero, you can usually find the final seasons pretty inexpensively. I discovered I have misplaced a disc from Season 5 and I was able to pick another copy of S5 up for like $20. Well worth the investsment. So today, on Morning Joke (Morning Joe on MSNBC), the host was swimming in delight re: all the CPAC stuff. And host had a thought aloud: What if John Boehner becomes Speaker of the House after the Mid-terms??? And all I could...

Zoey was in at least part of S2--she was in ITSOTG (I'm reasonably sure both parts) & The Midterms. I'm pretty sure Zoey was in more of S2, though she wasn't in anything from 17 People on. I don't think Zoey was in much, if any, of S3. If she wasn't, that could lend credence to her character doing Study Abroad, though it was never actually mentioned. You're right, I forgot about those. I'm pretty...

I wouldn't have a problem with CJ and Abbey talking about Jed being capable, loving and good looking. He is all those things. Jed and Leo were talking about colleagues getting together as people, so it made sense that he was talking about them as people, not just about how well they do their jobs. I will grant that I can't see them talking about how capable, loving and good looking Sam is, but I think that's about men of their...

Of course I don't know the guy personally, but I didn't think that Sorkin was sexist in intent, perhaps in outcomes, but not in intent. Even though Sorkin is immensely talented and well educated, I suspect that he did not necessarily have the broadest world view and that is reflected at times with certain characters and issues. I don't think that he automatically gets a pass, and IMO his bigger sin was, at least according to...
