I had been lusting after one of these for some time. I just had to have one. I dont care that it was a single stack 9mm. I dont care that Sig wont warranty any part of it. I dont care that its Army Surplus.
This pistol is just so damned comfy to shoot. I love it. I just seem to find my happy place every time I pull the trigger. This is a great addition to my collection and I am just ...

the only Sigs I have are a P230 7.65mm, the P6, P245 (single stack .45 - physically the same size as the P6 and about $800), GSR Revolution 1911, and a 556 Carbine........
Mags are mostly available now and so are most spare parts. There have even been a few runs of barrels made as well as grips. SIG will not warrenty them and more, but will service them as long as parts are available.
I know..I know...I'm the 1 in 1million that dont care for Sigs. It just seems that the bore axis over the firing hand is 'revolver high'.
Is it really like that or do pics make it appear so?
Good guns. IMO, if you're of the mind to carry any small Derringer, .380, snubby .45ACP, (really) compact 9mm/.40S&W, etc. then a P225 with the right ammo will prolly do ya just fine--and back-up mags carry 'slim to not there'...
Good gun, good choice
I have come to the realization that I am a SIG fan. I have put rounds down on a 220 and a 226/8 and really loved the feel of each of them. I am comfortable with them and surprisingly accurate with no real trigger time on them. More accurate than I am cold shot with my Glock. We are talking 96's to 88's here. may not seem like much but that is a big deal in my world. Looks like I have a serious question to ask myself. Stay with the...
Langston, although fractionally longer and taller then the Glock 2X series, the P6 conceals easier because it is slimmer. Comparing it to similar pistols (S&W Model 39, Glock Models 29 and 30, HK P245, etc.) it falls into an appropriate size for off-duty carry. More (double stacked, higher capacity magazines) ammo isn't necessarily better; if you miss with 8 you probably shouldn't be carrying anyway!
Langston, agreed; yet, each shooter will find his own comfort level--what works for you, me, Tim, Parker, and many others won't work for everyone... When the day comes that I find a 1911 .45ACP (or .38 Super) that fills my hand 'just right' and drives tacks, then I'll put my SIG's (and Hi-Powers) to rest...until then, I'll just shoot that what hits X's 'with religion'... -S __________________...
Yeah, but when he misses with 8, he can just jerk the trigger another 5 times in a panic while grabbing a spare - whee!! I felt up a 228 for the first time in about 1992 or so, it was one of the most amazing pistols in terms of handfeel I had ever or really have ever encountered. I had a 225 briefly, REALLY nice pistol, but the SA trigger on almost any Sig I've ever felt is garbage due to the DA/ SA mechanism they employ. I've never...

I like my P225, but we have never really connected. Single stack 9 duty usually goes to a 3900 series S&W. Good looking 225 you picked up.
ive seen alot of those come and go on gon.com as well as xd45's love my xd not sure why so many people buy then sell after a few raounds. i am thinking about picking up one of those sog's though

Is it really like that or do pics make it appear so? Nah! Not really. I never had problems going from the 1911 to the Sig. The 225 is imo one of the finest handguns ever made. Never had a malfunction and highly accurate. Now I feel worst for getting rid...
Carry the P228 daily - Outside of breaking in a couple of non-sig, new mags I've had one malfunction with over ten thousand rounds through it. TRUST it!
