The movie looks pretty close to the book by Cormac McCarthy.
This is a movie that will probably not pull in much money: There's basically no action, it's a depressing topic, etc. It's a relationship story, or it's about keeping one's humanity in terrible circumstances, not a story about the end of the world. That's the backdrop. If you have kids, you'll probably get this film.
It might be ...

For me though it has to be Avatar, The Road and Sherlock Holmes.
Yea, it got moved back, but I was just talking about my most anticipated films in general. Both Shutter Island and Prince of Persia are coming out next ...
From what I've read, apparently Paramount Pictures doesn't have the biggest amount of money at the moment. And because they are short on the cash, they market the film as well as they want to. Also, Leonardo DiCaprio is working on other films at the moment, so he doesn't have time to promote the film as well, so they just decided to push it back until they can advertise the movie better.

It probably would've done quite well commercially and critically, I was looking forward to it so much. Plus February is the cemetery of movies which is why I feel concerned about its quality.
I liked the original even though the director sucked. This new one, being 10 years later, is good for me because almost all the original cast returns. But did anyone else notice how screwed up Flannery's face is. Jeesh.
Check out my awesome new action/war movie!! YOU WONT be disappointed!

Mack Bolan a.K.a. The Executioner has been sent deep behind enemy lines to do some recon work of a suspected terrorist training facility. But when this routine recon mission takes a turn for the worse, Mack finds himself fighting for his life and for his ticket out.
I had hopes that this movie would be a fun alternative to the regular **** they release near Halloween, aka Saw. But after taking a closer look at the roster I'm no0t so sure. First the director, she directed Aeon Flux, nuff' said. This is Diablo Cody's sophmore feature, and after the praise she got for Juno I fear she might have the icantwriteabadmovieifitried mode of pretensiosnous. And lastly...
In all the flurry of this winter's films, I completely forgot about this movie, coming to screens next summer. Now, if there's someone that can pull of a good medieval period piece, it's Ridley Scott with Russell Crowe. Yeah, he's had some disappointing efforts with that, but they were still high quality. This has a lot of potential.

I have faith in Pixar, but I'll be interested to see how they do live-action. My only knowledge of the John Carter series is what I've seen in the stories on this movie, but since it's Pixar I'm likely to go see it anyway.
