Thread: The Players, The Game, The Editing - Survivor Samoa (Part Two)

In light of BR's observation, I started a new thread which is a nice surprise as I have not done that in quite a long time. I am very happy to see more people posting in the thread. Perhaps my absence was indeed the right decision
Thanks Brownroach, that took a lot of time and effort. Lets consider who JP likes to go far; who he considers evil, but has the potential to go far; who is on a journey and may blow up, and who is fodder while we get to know the real players. Final 9 potential: Erik (Galu) JP calls him a scrapper who he like to see win. Someone who will double-cross, and the ...
Thanks Brownroach, that took a lot of time and effort. Not on my part, it was a copy and paste job. SurvivorFever gets the credit. Sounds like Russell H. may start out playing like Rob Mariano in Marquesas. A tribe glows in Brooklyn
Thanks to all, and I like sol's assessment. Sure it's possible JP would give the F10, but there could be an unexpected. He liked Carolina in Tocantins. You asked about timing, sol. This interview is normally done after the game starts, but not much in. Note that Jeff used TC5 (or 6) as his benchmark for a few early out's. The first boot is probably already done with...
Thanks OFG, I wondered about the timing, and it just didn't make sense that it was after the final TC. This also means that he looks at it like a fan ... who he likes and who he dislikes; and who he expects to have game to the end ... and who he expects to fail to make jury duty. In other words, he speculates ... just like us.
The first boot is probably already done with. I was thinking that at first, but he does say: "I don't know about Yasmin. If she was first off I wouldn't be surprised." It could just be a smokescreen, but it's possible he made these observations on Day 2 or on Day 3 at some point before the IC and TC, after he'd had a little bit of time to see people interacting....
Yasmin looks like a likely candidate to be first. But based on Russells threat to weaken Foa Foa, and the vidcaps of Ben being involved in the IC, Ben may fail at the IC. Since Russell has also said that he controls peoples minds, he may choose to evict Ben. At least that's TDT's first speculation. But that spec is with serious reservations until more info is ...
LAST EDITED ON 09-03-09 AT 04:52 PM (EST) I just meant that Probst's assessment of Yasmin makes it appear as if the first boot hadn't happened yet when he was saying this stuff. (If he was being slick and boot #1 did already happen, then most likely it *wasn't* Yasmin.) ETA: If Jeff does his stupid blog again we'll probably be able to figure out most of the late-...
LAST EDITED ON 09-02-09 AT 07:55 AM (EST) TDT has a full - 20-member - Survivometer up for S20. So I've brought the luminaries here so that I might have my mysterious and spooky (Snap! Snap!) way with them ... And, for the most part, I'm so-so with the cast: should TDT's list be the cast. On the one hand, I'll finally get to see Rob, Jerri, Colby and Sandra ...

I agree, this was fun! And now it all makes sense as to why Russell would be so freely talking blindsides with Jaison at night. So looks like we have this week all wrapped up -- Shambo, Jaison and Russell win reward, Brett wins IC, Shambo goes home. I am most interested in seeing how Russell handles the Shambo boot and whether he can do it in a way that he doesn't totally alienate her. And the Ponderosa clips of how Galu and esp. the...
LAST EDITED ON 12-14-09 AT 04:26 AM (EST) Re the reward possibilities: they stay overnight, which could be after a feast or at the Tradewinds Hotel in Pago Pago, American Samoa. Here's a map of the islands. Apia and Pago Pago are 77 miles apart. Inter Island Airways offers Twice (2) daily On-Demand (Public Charter) flights between Pago Pago and Apia, and Apia to Pago Pago, using the 19-Seater Dornier 228. I don't think the...
Good job, everyone! This episode seems pretty well spoiled. Team anti-social wins reward. The nice people go foraging and play nice together (whether that means something or they're just, you know, nice thataway). Shambo's story is finished, she has no more enemies to gun for. Does Russell play the HII? It's his last chance to use it. "Blindside everybody?" At this point Russ himself would be the biggest blindside....
LAST EDITED ON 12-12-09 AT 11:33 PM (EST) What if it's just a day trip? We've been discussing tidal patterns and it appears that they could have been walking out during high tide and returning during low tide, so that could be anywhere from a 4 to 8 hour reward trip - especially considering that it seems to be a 2-day episode. If they know it's a day trip, then they probably don't feel that they need to bring...
I know OFG answered this for me before and I thought she said F5...but Dave and Jaison said day 36 was his last chance...Day 37 is F5 so only one day...OFG do you know?
