Okay, so I don't think anybody else wants to take the initiative to start this thread - which means I have to do so.
Let me begin with a simple question, to all you Pakistani Class of 2014 CCers:
Where have you guys applied early?
Hi!
I applied to Stanford Early Action I wish Harvard hadn't abolished their EA. I really wanted to apply there. What about you Juggernaut?
To Everyone: People let's get this thread started as the Juggernaut earlier stated. Let's get going.
Unity, Faith, Discipline. Pakistan Zindabad!

@takoyaki: It is almost farcical that you relate the example of an individual's body odor to that of an entire nation. All I can do is laugh.
@imransadiq: Oh, Stanford! I know a friend who applied their early as well. Nervous, anxious, excited? Me, personally - I applied to Dartmouth.
Does Stanford confirm reception of application materials? If so, have you received anything yet? I'm still ...
@takoyaki: Perhaps, you should not apply to any college since you seem to have the intellect of a three year old. Are all of the people in your country as dimwitted as you?
@The Juggernaut: I haven't received any confirmation yet. However, I have received an email regarding an Alumni Interview. It's scheduled for Friday and I'm very nervous. I have absolutely no idea what to say. At Dartmouth,...
@talha_adnan: I'm not really sure about safeties yet, have to start worrying about them soon.
@imransadiq: I applied to the Larson School of Business.
I didn't know Stanford had alumni interviews? I know they do have alumni interviews for those applicants that apply from the states (but that too in limited regions, I think) - so you must currently be in the states. What'd you apply for at ...
imransadiq, what were your SAT scores?
i'm just curious.
btw, does anyone know how many people from pakistan apply to schools like harvard/princeton/yale/stanford/mit every year?
@darkangel: I don't think you should do that.... if you're making a portfolio (for art, I presume) just for college then I wouldn't send it in, since anything you do in the last few days of december to meet the deadline would surely not be a good indicator of your artistic ablities. IF, however, you think that your work is still good enough, and you can also send in your portfolio by the end of December, then I think you should...
Wait, my curiosity got the better of me and I was inclined to go back and check tango91's one other post. Seems as if the poster's a parent - presumably a KGS parent. I feel like quite the detective. I knew there were lots of silent readers on here.
JUST A THOUGHT i was thinking of completing my portfolio in mid jan ( no time in last week of dec ) shuld i send my url simply and then complete it ?? Shuld I ??
Quote: one thing i wanna ask u guys is that how much does the transcripts count... i mean everythin else on my app is good but school transcipts are pretty awful to say tyhe least. compared to the class theyre okay but man when one just sees the grades9 c's etc) u really get a bad impression Depends on what you're doing. If you're in A-Levels, since A-Levels is 13th years of education, they only count your last 4 years i.e...
Yar i seem to have a problem. There was this chess competition that was held in my region and some of the top schools participated. My team won that tournament, but towards the end of it, things did not go well. I started hooting when i knew that we had won, and i may have booed a few times. As a result the home team decided to avenge their defeat by writing wrong names on our certificates. My middle name is missing. The spelling of my first...
I don't know about the A Levels v. AP debate, but one thing I can tell you is that if you take A Levels, your freshmen year at college will be a breeze. Just like Joiya said, its like going over the same stuff over again. It seems boring sometimes and you might even start skipping classes (like I've been doing ) but it helps building a good base your first semester of college. There's way much more on your mind than just...
