well, with super speed, super reflexes, super strength, he could feasibly dispel all of the kids momentum by fractionally allowing him to fall slower after he caught her. As in, once he caught him, he cradles him. It would be barely noticeable by those without super everything.

As long as somebody catches you, and you don't hit the ground, you're fine. At least in movie-land.
