Thread: The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction

Started 4 months, 1 week ago by BulletTime08
if you have played that game before, then you know why this that topic is here. My brother just bought Prototype, so i traded him inFamous for a little while, and i can't help but notice that Prototype is just basically The Hulk re-skinned and updated. I'm kinda bummed by that ... but oh well. plus, i looked it up online and found i am not alone. so far this has a post that was a good ...

They made it abundantly clear before the game came out that this would be a spirtual sequel to Hulk: Ultimate Destruction.

i never followed the game as it was developed. I just noticed that as i was playing i felt like i was just repaying The Hulk. I'm glad I'm not the one that bought it.

Personally the reason why I love it is because it plays like a more refined Hulk: UD.

BulletTime08 replied 4 months, 1 week ago
yes, but i remember The Hulk got sort of annoying especially in some of the levels because there was just too many things shooting at you and it was hard to concentrate on some and you couldn't just run and feel indestructible. i hope that's not how Prototype turns out to be in the later levels ...

Not really. If I had to gauge their difficulties or compare them then Hulk would definitely be the winner. The Abomination's fight at the end of Hulk is a headache. No enemy in Prototype compares to that level of hardness in Prototype. In fact I've almost beat Prototype on hard. Which so far hasn't been too hard.

yeah, actually after playing Prototype some more i feel it is alot easier. partly because the character is more agile and has better attacks, but mostly because you can be stealthy sometimes, and if things go wrong you can just run away and consume people and then head back into the action. plus, the checkpoints are a little generous sometimes, i don't mean there's alot of them, but when you ...

To be honest, it reminded me quite a bit of Spiderman 2, from the sprinting and jump charges, to the wall climbing and running.

Well, activision was never popular for being innovative.

Huh. I played Web of Shadows before this (and Infamous) so I would have thought that it was based off WoS. (Doing a quick search shows that this is not a new idea.) I'm about five or six story missions in and thus far, if I was forced to pick one, I'd say that it'd be a pretty close race. This is a more technically proficient game but the narrative makes more sense in Web of Shadows. Side ...

Maybe my nostalgia factor is kickin in but I think I liked the Hulk UD better than this game. I ran out and bought this right away cause I wanted a game like Hulk UD while some things are similar like running up building and jumping miles at a time. I think I liked the changes in setting in HULK UD. Also I think the combat was better, I think the flying guys in suits were more fun to fight than hunters and I feel like I had less issues...
