I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF has to be among any selection of 1950's essentials. And HORROR OF DRACULA. I'd also pick 20 MILLION MILES TO EARTH over EARTH VS THE FLYING SAUCERS. Harryhausen's Ymir is more iconic than his flying saucers.

Essentials, Iconic.. movies that changed or impacted the era. The Day the Earth Stood Still an absolute must.. it crosses over too many topics it's a film that can be watched over and over Invasion of the Body Snatchers You're neighbor's not your neighbor. Echoed the red scare and outerspace. Still gives me chills Forbidden Planet First really big dollar space opera. Scope,...

I'm not a big fan but they were intrumental in resurrecting (no pun) the Horror Genre taking it to a new level with the blood and gore IN COLOR they added. Curse of Frankenstein Curse of Dracula Creature from the Black Lagoon arguably one of if not the best Uni Monster I only like this first entry. I think they ...

I think Godzilla (in either the American or Japanese version) is just the better film, and solidifies everything Beast introduced. Whereas Beast was revolutionary, Godzilla was iconic, and I ...

Don't go to another world.. you don't know what you'll bring back. I don't like these two because they are largely only important because of later films that "fixed" them.

Nobody 'fixed' THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD, because it wasn't broken. It was well-nigh perfect.
