I think crying is just too passive for most men. Whenever I get to the point that my emotions are getting out of control (which doesn't happen often) I'll go for a drive, running, hiking, to the gym, etc. Or there is of course the heavy drinking. Are we talking all out bawling, sobbing uncontrollably crying here or just having your eyes well up and the lump form in the back of your throat? Cause I'll be damned if any red-blooded American man can hold back at the end of Saving Private Ryan. What the fuck? The last time I cried was senior year of high school when the surgeon told me I triple crowned my knee and my state ranked wrestling season was over. This has to be taking into account times when you get smacked in the nose and your eyes water or the guys they surveyed were the new round of emo's. Do guys also slit their wrists once every couple months and prefer appletini's at the bar?

Emotion-based crying? I did that three times in four years, and those were some pretty awful years (all my fault, I was a depressed loser and hated myself). Men don't cry... in public. I cried a good amount when I was younger and I'll be the first to admit that I'm a huge pussy, but now I understand the importance of acting emotionally stable in public and saving occasional breakdowns for myself.
