They cry at funerals, when their dogs die and, most commonly, at weddings, The Daily Telegraph reports. 6 times a fucking year, what? I remember ...

From wiki: Quote: According to a study of over 300 adults, on average, men cry once every month, and women cry at least five times per month This is the average? Maybe if you include the physical act of your eyes watering, but actually crying as an emotional response?

What the fuck? The last time I cried was senior year of high school when the surgeon told me I triple crowned my knee and my state ranked wrestling season was over. This has to be taking into account times when you get smacked in the nose and your eyes water or the guys they surveyed were the new round of emo's. Do guys also slit their wrists once every couple months and prefer appletini's at the...

It happens more than one might think:

Seconded, I figure those stats are complete bullshit, or else compiled in an incredibly feminine society. I cried a month ago when myself and my GF broke up and before that it was when my dog died in 2005. I can't comprehend how the average man would find himself in such an emotional state 6 times a year that he would break down and cry, because speaking for myself at least it takes a lot of bad ...

Are we talking all out bawling, sobbing uncontrollably crying here or just having your eyes well up and the lump form in the back of your throat? Cause I'll be damned if any red-blooded American man can hold back at the end of Saving Private Ryan. Hearing Ryan ask his wife to tell him he's lived a good life gets me every fucking time, and I'm not ashamed of it one bit.

Over the past 3-4 years, I think my cries-per-year statistic has gone up slightly, but I think that has more to do with lifecycle events than dramatic emotional changes. I've unfortunately been through several funerals over the past few years for both family and friends, which is never an easy time. I guess I'm slightly below average at 3-4 times per year. I had to check myself during ...

Good questions indeed, because I can't be the only one at the end of Field of Dreams who isn't a little teary eyed.

Last time I cried was when my dad tore me apart after picking me up from jail when I was 17 (5 years ago). I guess I shed a tear a few months ago when my closest friend moved to the other side of the world for a couple years. My eyes barely even watered up when I broke my wrist and spine snowboarding. Definitely doesn't happen often. Though this probably doesn't count, I cried in a dream ...

I mean come on: "Hey Dad...wanna have a catch?" For me, sometimes heavy drinking will allow my emotions to slip out more ...

I cried last Friday when one of my friends had to put her dog down. It was completely unexpected. I had just seen the dog the prior weekend. During PMS if I watch Little House, I cry. The news? Tears. Animal Planet? Watering eyeballs. I'm telling you guys, sometimes having boobs sucks. I know you don't believe me but it's true. There are days I would trade. I think if a man ...

I think crying is just too passive for most men. Whenever I get to the point that my emotions are getting out of control (which doesn't happen often) I'll go for a drive, running, hiking, to the gym, etc. Or there is of course the heavy drinking. Being active always seems to help me. Shooting guns is perhaps the best stress relieving activity I have ever discovered. I rarely cry because it just seems so damn passive to me. I...

I never thought a cartoon would make me cry, until I saw these episodes of Futurama: Jurassic Bark The Sting

I work on an onion farm. And the only time I have cried was when I was 3 years old. I wanted to season my ox meat so I cried into a teaspoon, separated the salt from the fluid and sprinkled it on my steak. "Probably the most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother. My 2 sons are often a source of hope and perspective when I was bitter or withdrawn. While growing up way too fast they have stayed devoted and...

Emotion-based crying? I did that three times in four years, and those were some pretty awful years (all my fault, I was a depressed loser and hated myself). If these guys are crying six times per year, I can't imagine what their lives are like. They must have hurricanes smashing their houses multiple times per year or something. Now, your eyes watering because you get hit in the balls or a stiff wind is hitting you in the face, that...

Men don't cry... in public. I cried a good amount when I was younger and I'll be the first to admit that I'm a huge pussy, but now I understand the importance of acting emotionally stable in public and saving occasional breakdowns for myself.
