On this day I would like to thank all Veterans and current active duty military members for your service to your country, both liberal and conservative. Your sacrifice has made the citizens of our great nation proud.

I was flipping through the TV channels and came across a news broadcast from Great Britain. It was possibly BBC News or something and they were interviewing some people. I remember. The poppies became a symbol based on the Poem, In Flanders Field . The poem was written by a Canadian physician serving in Belgium during WW I. He died just a few weeks after writing the poem. My family and I had a chance to visit Ypres when I was stationed in Belgium and visited the site where this poem was penned. I don't know as much about WW I as I do about WW II, ...
