I have to agree on going light on a young team, but I look a schools like MTSU and wonder about the shifts in the landscape.     MTSU has  OU, IU, AZ, LSU, UL and UT among others.

Orioles84, the Terrapins are regrouping. I think they have the personnel to be a solid bball team this season. Can they make it to the Final Four? ~~Chaffon says, never say never.     So true, they will be one of those teams that nobody wants to face come NCAA time. Kind of like Rutgers last year , they were so so all year but made a splash in the tournament.

Orioles84 this is the reason why I think Maryland will be a sleeping Giant this season. Guard Angela Barrett - this player has skills galore and she knows how to play the game. Her passing ability is superb. Kim Rodgers is the real deal too. Barrett and Rodgers are going to feed off each other on both ends of the court. The Terps have no problem at the guard position that's for sure. And let's ...

Chaffon, I don't care what your politics are, I don't care who you voted for...this woman is a disgrace.  I understand that we have freedom of speech but she is a member of the House of representatives, a Representative of the United States of America, and she is extolling the virtues of a brutal dictator, a murderer, actually make it a mass murderer.  He has refused his country a free election ...

cferraro04 - You didn't show this much emotion when then President Bush fiddled away while New Orleans was under water ~~Chaffon says, and yet your hatred towards a California representative who speaks kindly of an old despot in Cuba makes you turn colors. You would had been better served if you had denounced those Americans who are preventing Health Care Reform in an OT thread. If you are so ...

Sorry, before everyone goes apes$%#&t over this post, I was only kidding...I was just trying to make a point...everyone is going bananas over a single phone call...yeah, maybe Pat made it, maybe she didn't, maybe it is a violation and maybe it isn't...stop and think...just because Pat may have made an illegal phone call doesn't mean that Michelle will choose TN.  I say if there is a violation...

Xavier Falls at HOME to..whaaa?
Published (2009-12-15 03:12:00)
CINCINNATI -- Freshman Dayeesha Hollins scored 22 points, including a layup with 17 seconds left that rallied Michigan to a 72-71 victory over Xavier (No. 8 ESPN/USA Today, No. 12 AP) on Monday night. Carmen Reynolds scored 18 points and Krista Phillips added 16 for Michigan (8-2), which won its fourth straight game, all on the road. Hollins, playing in her hometown, finished with nine rebounds. Michigan trailed 38-33 at halftime, but Hollins...

Second that TV thought.   The only ranked teams playing at all tomorrow.   As for upsets, remember this is at Maples.

A stat for those who dismiss ND
Published (2009-12-15 04:27:00)
Upsets happen in sports all the time. So, of course ND could beat UConn. Over the years, Lady Leather Skirt's zone has sometimes given UConn fits, especially if the 3ball luckshot isn't dropping. One key for UConn when playing ND (and Rutgers) is to try to get a big early scoring run. It's almost impossible to catch UConn if they get a big jump. But when ND can play its pace and hang around and hang around, anything can happen....

The male cheerleader is suspended .  the two wcbb players may have been defending another female from the overly aggressive, overly intoxicated cheer boy.

What do people think about Kansas?
Published (2009-12-14 21:01:00)
in response to Zeph- Sure, and I hope Henrickson (current WCBB Coach) is making progress to recruiting that kind of talent, again? I am 62 yrs. and a fan of KU and KSU. KU's program (wcbb) has not been competitive until a few years after Henrickson arrived. Progress has been noted. Kansas WCBB saw too many down years. Reorganization attempts and considerable $ program investments are beginning to pay off in a very competitive B 12. They...

Sagarin predictor
Published (2009-12-14 20:13:00)
I'm not going to explain this AGAIN. Sagarin's predictor and RPI/SOS are entirely different animals. RPI/SOS never ever changes. Get it?  How wrong can you be? Both RPI and SOS change every game until the last one is played. If you're following one that doesn't then you've been taken.

Tennessee Lady Vols vs Rutgers...
Published (2009-12-14 17:33:00)
Call it egocentric if you wish...however, I know this UConn team...I don't know this Rutgers team nor do I know this Ladyvols team.  I think this UConn team can escape the ugliness perpetrated upon it by the historically purveyors of ugliness.  If UConn can't score it's usual 74-80 points and if UConn can't run it's usual offense and if Rutgers can impose their will on UConn then I will be on the side of those who...

i'm sold on Baylor
Published (2009-12-13 20:11:00)
i'm not saying they are winning it all this year. The future looks bright for Baylor. The team is young but they are getting better. The next 2-3 years this team will be one of the best teams. So far they only lost to Tennessee. So, Baylor beating BC by less than that cupcake Vermont did on BC's court impresses you? Griner is unique and will be an AA every year she plays. And a POY candidate in the future.  They will be a FF...
