does your current temp gauge work?

Mat replied 1 month, 2 weeks ago
a temp gauge does nothing more than monitor your coolant temp so getting one wont fix your problem comprende?

YourcarFTL replied 1 month, 2 weeks ago
correct, your fans are turned on by a seperate switch, all your temp gauge does is tell you how hot / cold your coolant is.

Just replaced the coolant sensor couple days ago think it was faulty cuz today my temp gauge went up and down like crazy then it wouldnt read my temp anymore. Could be bad wiring idk but it did pull up a coolant resistance to high code. There has to be someway i can have my fans running while to still be able to monitor my temp

you have two coolant temp gauges in most cases. One to tell the ECU the coolant temp and one for your gauge display. Find out which one isn't working.

almost postive it has to be my coolant sensor has gone bad. because my temp gauge by the wheel always reads cold. and my fans are always on even with a cold car thats with the coolant sensor plugged in.
