What good is the deep safety, Cover 2 scheme if Mays can\'t protect against the deep play? I\'ll deal with the lack of interceptions and pass deflections, and I\'ll buy into the notion that the scheme is the reason for that. But Mays is rendering this cover 2, bend- don\'t-break completely useless if the defense breaks repeatedly. It\'s bending AND breaking. The very thing Mays is ...

I agree totally. He simply has no field sense and his first step is sluggish and generally not in the right direction. He is not quick enough to play safety in the NFL.

lol, his 4.2 40 is too slow for the NFL?

He\'s been much more hurt than they are letting on, just like Sanchez\'s knee last year

Gerhart was running stride for stride with Mays. Mays just whiffed on another "juke" by Gerhart.

If Mays is really playing as well as he can, then maybe he\'s just not talented enough to play in the NFL. Someone like Sean Payton is going to call plays leaving Taylor Mays running in circles in the NFL.

Oh well, perhaps he can get coached up in the NFL and become a better player.

Mays hasn\'t played his ass off since he got hurt. That kid is playing not to get hurt so he can be ready for draft day. He hasn\'t made two good tackles all year.

Taylor Mays sucks! All the great players last year made him look good.
