It sounds like something is loose. The noise started out about 6 months ago, but it was barely noticible, today it is definetly noticible and very annoying. I'm assuming that you've already fixed this, but just in case, let's start with more questions: does this mystery noise have anything to do with the climate control (does it stop if you turn off the CC?) Does it change in pitch or frequency if you crank up the fan? Does it only happen above certain speeds? Does it change when you turn the steering wheel? Can you hear it better on the left or right side? If you did figure it out,...

Mike, My 96 TL has the same minor annoying problem. Exactly in the same area. I have been trying to find the exact source which seem to be coming from a point between the instrument panel & the left air conditioner/heater vent. Am about to try silicon spray every place I can get to. Sincerely, Michael
