TCM has scheduled some ultra-rare Columbia pre-Codes on July 10th. Stars include Mae Clarke, Edmund Lowe, Evelyn Brent, Dwight Frye, Thelma Todd and Nat Pendleton. Now that is must-see TV.

Wow. I notice that TCM has scheduled a lot of new-to-TCM fare lately, including many silents and other oldies not available on DVD. Thanks for the heads-up!

Ken, go to the TCM Message boards and enter "(whatever month) listings." Then you just have to wangle your way around the threads... usually the, say, July listings will show up about April 11th or 12th (thus the August listings should show up about May 11th or 12th). If you go to the General Discussions thread (or maybe Hot Topics) on the TCM Message Board, you'll find it...THE GOOD BAD GIRL; ATTORNEY FOR THE DEFENSE; FINAL EDITION; THREE WISE GIRLS; DECEPTION.

Well, I did it again. I wanted to tape MEXICAN SPITFIRE and I already missed half of it. Does anyone have a copy? I will beg and grovel.

HarryLong replied 6 months, 2 weeks ago
No, I overslept & missed it, too.

I think my only copy is VHS EP Mode. Be glad to make a copy, but you might be better off continuing your search.

Personally, I'd forget about the whole thing.

>>Three early Cary Grant films will populate this boxed set: The Eagle and the Hawk (1933) - This vivid World War I drama stars Frederic March as a disillusioned but fearless squadron leader and Cary Grant as his bullied gunner-observer. The gripping interpersonal drama, anti-war sentiments and outstanding aerial dogfights give this film an impact that remains vital today. Carole Lombard and Jack Oakie round out a top-notch cast....

That lineup looks terrific, News Hound! I've never seen most of the titles on that list. There are quite a few good old horrors playing on TCM on Oct. 30 and 31, btw.

Gene Hackman gets a day during August's SUMMER UNDER THE STARS. I would have preferred William Haines. Or John Gilbert. Or Ramon Novarro. Or Ricardo Cortez. You get the picture.
